Tulsa Area LCMS Churches Gather for Annual All Church Picnic
Nearly 200 members and guests from Tulsa-area LCMS congregations gathered Sunday, Sept. 21, for the Tulsa Area LCMS All-Church Picnic, an afternoon centered on fellowship, food and the joy of gathering together as one body in Christ.
Originally planned for Haikey Creek Park, the picnic was moved to Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tulsa because of the possibility of rain. The change turned out to have one unexpected benefit: guests were able to enjoy plenty of air conditioning while still enjoying an afternoon outdoors-inspired atmosphere of fun and fellowship.
The picnic brought together Lutherans from congregations throughout the Tulsa area for a shared meal featuring burgers and hot dogs grilled up by some special volunteers, and a variety of potluck favorites. Guests also enjoyed live music from a fantastic swing band, creating a festive atmosphere as families and friends visited with one another.

For those looking for a little friendly competition, the afternoon included a cornhole tournament, with the championship trophy ultimately going home with Trinity Lutheran Church in Broken Arrow.
There was plenty for children and adults to enjoy alike. Bounce houses and inflatable axe throwing provided entertainment for kids of all ages, while a raffle gave attendees the chance to take home a variety of prizes.
More than anything, the picnic provided an opportunity for members of different Tulsa-area LCMS congregations to set aside their individual church settings and simply enjoy being together as fellow Christians.
The Tulsa Area LCMS All Church Picnic was a reminder that while we worship and serve in different congregations, we are united in Christ and share a common confession of the Gospel.

From a great meal and swing music to cornhole, epic games of rumble ball, raffles, and inflatable axe throwing, the afternoon offered something for everyone. Most importantly, it gave nearly 200 people the opportunity to celebrate the fellowship we share as one body in Christ.
We give thanks to those who organized the event and to God for the opportunity to gather together. We look forward to the next time Tulsa-area LCMS churches come together in fellowship.
