Missions Executive Message

As Pastor of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran in Tulsa, OK and the District Mission Executive, I am passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and empowering congregations in the Oklahoma District to reach out to their communities.

Congregations of the Oklahoma District of the LCMS undertake a wide range of mission projects and I encourage you to read about them here and share your own Mission Stories. Our Oklahoma Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) is an organization of local LWML societies and individual members united to promote the objectives of the LWML – mission education, mission inspiration, mission service, and mission grants.

The Oklahoma District LCMS supports missions for outreach to ethnic communities, revitalization of churches, and partners with  new and existing congregations who have special needs.

My own years of mission work include:

  • Starting Five and Two, a food distribution ministry in Tampa, Florida. Five and Two partnered with local churches to build food pantries at their ministries, in order to feed the hungry. Twenty food pantries were created by Five and Two and thousands of people fed.
  • Leading mission groups to Bethlehem, in the West Bank. Participants helped Di Yar College West Bank Palestine by preparing dry wall for painting, and painting classrooms, as well as reaching Muslim families with the love of Christ, through conversation and social services provided by the college.
