Faithful and Flourishing:

Oklahoma District Church Workers Gather for Fall Conference

Church workers from across the Oklahoma District gathered at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Enid for the Fall Church Workers' Conference in October, centered on the theme "Faithful and Flourishing." The conference featured guest speaker Dr. Bernard Bull, President of Concordia University, Nebraska, who shared insights on pedagogy and strategies for cultivating faithful, flourishing environments in our congregations, schools and ministries.

The conference began Monday evening with worship and the celebration of Holy Communion, centering our time together around the gifts and promises of Christ. The gathering concluded its opening worship with the hymn "Go, My Children, with My Blessing" (LSB 922), a fitting reminder of God's faithfulness and His presence with us in every season. Following worship, church workers enjoyed a delicious meal together catered by a local restaurant and shared updates from each of our District's ministry areas.

Dr. Bernard Bull presents "Features of a Faithful and Flourishing Christian School" to attendees of the Oklahoma District Fall 2026 Church Workers' Conference IN Enid, OK.

Beginning Tuesday, Dr. Bull explored the topic of pedagogy, the art and science of teaching and learning. Pedagogy considers how people learn, how teaching can be most effective and how intentional learning environments can encourage curiosity, engagement, and growth. His presentations offered church workers helpful perspectives and strategies for nurturing environments where people can learn, grow in their faith, and flourish in their God-given vocations.

The fall conference provided additional opportunities for connection among church workers from across the district. These opportunities to share experiences, encourage one another and build relationships are an important part of our life together as the Church.

We are grateful to Redeemer Lutheran Church for hosting this year's conference and to the ladies of the LWML for their generous hospitality throughout our time together.

As we return to our respective congregations, schools, and ministries, may we continue to serve faithfully, encourage one another and cultivate environments where the people of God can flourish in the gifts and vocations He has given them. Above all, we give thanks for the Lord who sustains His Church and blesses the work He has called us to do.
